Donald and Melania Trump, who have been married for 20 years, have been plagued by rumors that their marriage is on the rocks, in part due to the fact they sleep in separate bedrooms
Despite having separate bedrooms, Donald Trump and Melania Trump have a nightly ritual that keeps their bond strong, according to insiders.
When Melania moved into the White House months after Trump’s inauguration, critics were quick to point out her separate sleeping quarters as a sign of marital strife.
However, insiders told the Daily Mail that the couple is far from unhappy, thanks to a special nightly routine. So, what’s the secret?

The former first couple reportedly enjoys dinner together every night before bedtime, engaging in conversation before calling it a day.
“They ate dinner together every night, though they did not share a bedroom. Trump slept in a room adjacent to the yellow oval room,” an insider revealed.
The source compared the Trumps’ relationship to Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, who also had separate bedrooms but enjoyed a famously long-lasting marriage, the Irish Star reported.

Insiders stressed that the sleeping arrangements don’t reflect an unhappy marriage, adding that the residence staff adored the Trumps during their term and would have noticed any relationship issues.
An insider revealed to the Daily Mail that the residence staff had a positive impression of the Trumps during their first term. “The residence staff really liked the Trumps during the first term. If you have a frigid marriage on a knife’s edge, staff can tell, and it’s uncomfortable. There was a good vibe from the housekeepers,” the source shared.
The same insiders suggested that the couple’s recent public displays of affection could be a sign of a rekindled relationship as Trump ages. “There is a possibility that he is reaching for Melania for both emotional and physical stability… the president is getting older. His gait is not as steady,” one source told the Daily Mail.
Trump will turn 79 in June, while Melania recently celebrated her 55th birthday at Pope Francis’ funeral.
Despite being married since 2005, the pair often seem awkward around each other. However, recent images of them holding hands, laughing together, and even sharing a kiss at the Vatican suggest a different story.
While age could be a factor in this apparent rejuvenation of their relationship, it remains uncertain.
“This is a solid partnership,” the Daily Mail’s source insisted. “They have been married 20 years. There is a synergy between them.”
The insider also noted that Trump has been facing challenging times due to his sweeping tariff policies and his desire for a quick end to the war in Ukraine. As such, Melania has been a source of comfort for her husband, the insider added.
“The president has had a difficult few weeks. Melania provides an oasis because she remains above and outside the political fray,” revealed an insider.
Melania, batting away whispers of marital woes, clarified in her book that her much-discussed red carpet moment “swatting” her husband’s hand away in Tel Aviv was misconstrued by the press.
